The existing twelve-inch water main under Bonisteel Boulevard serves all university buildings on Bonisteel between Beal Avenue and Murfin Avenue. The water main is approximately sixty years old, and recent breaks have reduced water service reliability. This project will replace more than 3,000 feet of water main and address connections to buildings and fire hydrants. The scope of the project also includes installation of nearly 2,000 feet of chilled water supply and return piping; replacement of the westbound pavement, curbs, and sidewalk, and resurfacing of the entire road. Replacement of pedestrian and street lighting is also included in the project.
