Pervious Concrete Detail

Cross-section diagram illustrating layers of pervious concrete, aggregate, geotextile fabric, and compacted subgrade.

Detail Text Description

A detailed cross-sectional diagram of a pervious concrete slab and its underlying layers. Starting from the top, the section labeled as “Pervious Concrete” sits 8 inches thick, shown on the left side. Below it is a layer composed of uniformly graded, coarse aggregate. This is depicted with a rough texture and labeled with text indicating specific material requirements, including references to MDOT 6A and ASTM standards. Beneath the aggregate layer is a non-woven geotextile fabric, outlined to show its position and described according to compliance standards. The bottom layer is labeled “Compacted Subgrade,” represented with a cross-hatching pattern to denote compacted material. To the left, a cloud-shaped callout notes that the thickness of aggregate is to be specified by the designer. At the bottom, the title reads “Pervious Concrete Detail,” followed by notes to the designer, addressing requirements and considerations for the concrete installation.
