Expected to begin on Monday, September 23, the next phase of DTE’s underground duct bank installation will begin on Church Street between South University and Geddes. The work will be split into two phases. During phase 1, Church Street will be closed to through traffic from South University north to approximately the Church Street Parking Structure’s northwest entrance/exit. Two-way local traffic will be maintained. During phase 2, Church Street will be closed to through traffic from Geddes Avenue south to approximately the Church Street Parking Structure’s northwest entrance/exit. Two-way local traffic will be maintained. Throughout the course of the project, at least one of the parking structure’s entrances/exits on Church Street will be accessible and the entrance/exit off of South Forest will also be open for the project’s duration. Sidewalks will be open on both sides of the street. Specific timing of each phase will be shared in future traffic updates when more detailed information becomes available.
