On Sunday, March 24, intermittent temporary road closures will be in place for various City of Ann Arbor and U-M roads for the 2019 Ann Arbor Marathon.  Notable closures near campus include one or more lanes of: South Fifth Avenue, Brown Street, East Hoover Street, South Division Street, Hill Street, South State Street, Monroe Street, Tappan Avenue, South University Avenue, East University Avenue, North University Avenue, Observatory Street, Washington Heights, Nichols Drive, East Medical Center Drive, Fuller Road, and Geddes Avenue.  The event, which consists of a half and full marathon course as well as 5k and 10k courses, is scheduled to begin at 7:30 AM and end at 1:30 PM.  Lane closures will begin as early as 4:00 AM.  Ann Arbor Police will be present to assist with traffic control at any points in the race route that impede traffic, including emergency and key access routes to the U-M Medical Center.
