Beginning at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, August 29, and anticipated to last until 7:00 AM Thursday, August 30, South State Street between East William Street and East Madison Street will be closed for installation of new sewer and water services in association with the William Monroe Trotter Multicultural Center project. Southbound traffic will be detoured west on William Street, south on Thompson Street and east on East Madison and back to South State Street. Northbound traffic will be detoured west on East Madison, north on Thompson and east on East William and back to South State Street. Local businesses will have access to their driveways maintained at all times. Pedestrian traffic will need to be detoured to the east side of South State Street for the public’s safety.
