Overview
The Joan and Sanford Weill Hall will be an 80,000 gross square foot building designed by Robert A.M. Stern Architects.The facility will be five stories tall with an attic penthouse above. Approximately 48,000 net square feet of space will be created in the new building, housing all of the functions of the Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy including: administration, classrooms, faculty offices, development, career services, student services, alumni and external relations and four principal research functions. Research programs include: the Ford Foundation Research and Training Program on Poverty and Public Policy; the Michigan Program on Poverty and Social Welfare Policy; the Center on Local, State and Urban Policy; and the Nonprofit and Public Management Center research centers. Prominently positioned at the northeast corner of State and Hill streets, the building will serve as a symbolic gateway to Central Campus.
