Precast Paver On Concrete Base

Cross-sectional diagram of a precast paver on a concrete base with measurements and material specifications.

Detail Text Description

A detailed architectural diagram of a precast paver on a concrete base. The diagram showcases a cross-sectional view of the different layers involved in the construction. At the top is a labeled “Concrete Band,” which is approximately 1 inch thick with a depth of 2 3/8 inches. Directly below this layer is a “Slag Sand Setting Bed,” followed by 4 x 8 inch precast concrete pavers set tightly with sand-swept joints. Below the pavers is a 6-inch thick layer of 4000 PSI concrete with fiber mesh. Below the concrete layer is compacted MDOT Class II granular material, ensuring the material is compacted to 98% of max density. The bottom layer consists of compacted subgrade prior to stone installation. Additional features include stainless steel dowels for expansion, an expansion joint, and a drilled drain filled with peastone. Annotations include measurements and material specifications.
