The University of Michigan-Flint is proposing to construct a new academic teaching facility that will complete its Innovation and Technology Complex. The new building will be approximately 40,000 gross-square-feet and sited just north of the William S. White building, adjacent to the new College of Innovation and Technology Building, on the north side of the UM-­Flint Campus. The new facility will feature state-of-the-art instructional laboratories and research spaces that maximize a high level of flexibility, allowing lab utilization to be modified efficiently to provide service for the ever-changing world of technology and research. Instruction and research spaces will be focused on a technology rich curriculum that includes labs such as: Controlled Environment (humidity/particulate) Emerging Mobility, Clean Energy, Additive & Advanced (Smart) Manufacturing, Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning and Data Visualization & Immersive Experience. The facility will also include faculty and administrative office space along with student collaboration spaces.
