Raoul Wallenberg and Arthur Miller Houses Relocation and Renovations

Raoul Wallenberg and Arthur Miller Houses Relocation and Renovations

This project will renovate and repurpose two historic houses on Central Campus: the Arthur Miller house and the Raoul Wallenberg house. The Wallenberg house, currently located at 308 E. Madison, will be moved 0.4 miles to a site next to the Miller house at 439 S. Division St. The two houses will be connected by a new 845-gross-square-feet addition that will include a shared elevator for accessibility. Both houses will undergo comprehensive renovations to address deferred maintenance and code compliance issues. The combined and renovated space will provide flexible administrative and dry research areas. The Wallenberg house is currently located within the development footprint of the future Central Campus Residential Development Phase 2 project and site demolition activities require either the house’s relocation or demolition in summer 2025. In order to relocate the Wallenberg house, a basement and foundation need to be constructed in early summer 2025 for placement of the relocated house.
